2014 is about to conclude.
The theme for me this year is that of gratitude and thanksgiving.
I am most thankful to
God for His gift of healing. Early last year, I could have been defeated by the
mere knowledge that I had breast cancer. However, He guided the oncologists and
other specialists who attended to me. The surgery and radiation treatments were
without complications, I was able to conquer the aftermath of their effects.
I thank God for my
family who helped me through the ordeal, they, who gave their understanding and
support. They willingly picked up where I was too weak and tired to do
anything. I thank my Mom, my brothers, and cousins who prayed without ceasing.
Fr. Constantine’s strength in the midst of adversity kept me strong, as well.
His presence and unwavering support carried me through the whole process. My
loving children sustained me with the nourishment and undivided attention.
I thank my AMSA friends, (especially those in Special Ed. Department) for
taking me home- Peggy, for driving my car home (with me as passenger) and Lauren
for driving behind, so that Peggy could go back to school. I am thankful for their
flexibility during my radiation treatment. I could not have done it without
them.
I thank my Presvytera friends who reached out and said prayers for strength and
healing. For the calls and well wishes, I especially thank you Vicki, Cindy,
Eleni, Claire, Kerry, Brandy, Jeannie, and Nektaria.
I thank the many clergymen, both near and far, led by His Eminence Metropolitan
Methodios, for their prayers for me and support for Fr. Constantine. Thank you,
Your Eminence Metropolitan Savas for personally seeking for me during the
conference in June at HCHC. Thank you Fr. Ted Toppses for your spiritual presence
and guidance, from the very start. Your prayers kept me positive. Thank you Fr.
Dean Paleologos for visiting me in the hospital. (It meant so much, considering
your very busy schedule)
I also thank Linda for also for keeping Fr. C. company while I was in recovery.
By the way, the anthurium is still "alive."
I know, I may have
inadvertently missed other people. Be assured that you are all in my prayers.
I start 2015 with a
prayer and a wish for a Happy and Healthy New Year. For what was, what is, and
what will be, I thank you all. Above all, I thank you, my Lord and my God.
