A Song for Raphael: Submission to the Lord.

Digna, I would like to share Raphael (and your family) to my friends because I want them to know how much faith, trust, and love you have for God. It is genuine and inspiring.

Digna was my classmate in kindergarten. I remember her because she and my two other classmates, Sylvia, and Melisande, came to my 6th birthday party. Over time, we lost track of each other until I saw her name on FaceBook.

I know that it was planned this way. In the short time that we have reconnected, I found out that her son, Raphael, was battling a life threatening illness. He fought a good fight; however, last year he left us. I am so proud of my friend, Digna, for her obedience and faith in God. He gave her (along with her family) the strength to offer back Raphael to his Creator, his Father.

Every day, she writes about God and His important role in her life--and what He should also be for us.

God has touched her and has given her the gift of understanding, faith, and love (that which transcends time, space, and distance)

Digna, may you be continually blessed for your perseverance.
I love you, my friend. ♥

Digna also wrote a poem for Raphael which was made into a Filipino song. I asked Digna if I could translate it in English so that others may see the faith and love that she and her family have for the Lord.

Here it is-

From the moment I first glanced at your bewildered eyes
I was filled with joy, I shed a tear.
You were like a little angel, a gift from God, for me to love and care for.
Even in the hours of your fight, you can always rely on me.

Refrain: I wish I could say that I love you so much, and to you I dedicate this song, my child.

How time flies. Life with all its trials, even your fate was challenged.
With my tight embrace, I will intercede for you until your very last day.
Just awhile ago, you were in my arms but when I awoke, you had to let go
.
Refrain: I wish I could say that I love you so much, and to you I dedicate this song, my child.

Until we meet again, I want to thank you for your memories.
Refrain: I wish I could say that I love you so much, and to you I dedicate this song, my child.
...that I love you so, so much.
